T&P helps Amey win Personnel Today Talent Management Award!
Amey is a division of Ferovial, a large global services company. Amey provides services that support the infrastructure of the UK, including motorways, schools, hospitals, tube lines and airports.
Initially, with no Talent Management strategy in place, Amey was facing a situation in which 70% of senior roles were being filled externally, with high cost of hire and a consequent impact on employee morale. Access to a new talent scheme was thrown open to applications from anyone in the organisation. After shortlisting and assessment, three development strands were launched: Talent Tracker, On Track, and Emerging Talent.
One foundation of the fast track programme was a small-group, intensive Drive Your Career! workshop, used to equip delegates with the attitudes and career skills of high fliers. The objective was to equip people to seek out and create their own career opportunities within Amey. Eighteen months on, this investment has paid dividends.
Amey won the Personnel Today Talent Management Award, having:
- Doubled internal fill rates
- Saved £1m in recruitment fees
- Retained 96% of the fast track population
- Seen rapid internal promotion, with 80% of delegates achieving one promotion and 40% achieving two or more promotions in 18 months
Amey has now extended the Drive Your Career! programme to their graduate population.
