Our Approach
Our aim in everything we do as a business is to use our research to find innovative new ways of tackling familiar problems. Our solutions reinforce self-directed action by individuals – so that as far as possible people take control of the situation for themselves – whether it is driving their career, engaging their team, or developing their performance.
Our success in re-thinking problems and shifting attitudes towards self-directed action means that clients often ask us to work on bespoke solutions to HR and Organisational Development challenges.
Examples of projects
At any given time, we will be working in partnership with our clients on a range of challenging issues that they are facing. These challenges have included:
- Designing a Leadership Framework : Our Directors worked with 20 of the top 30 managers in this major company, to crystallise a set of concrete Leadership Behaviours at different levels in the organisation, as a key step in changing the culture of the company.
- Rethinking global graduate strategy : Our client wanted to re-evaluate and re-design every element of its graduate selection and development strategy, bringing together all parties involved with the graduate experience for a 2 day strategy workshop in Zurich. T&P’s Managing Director flew out to provide a strategic input and assist with the initial thinking. The client commented that the input and assistance was both inspiring and spot on, in helping with rethinking how to get maximum value from their biggest HR spend.
- Support for a major restructure : Our client needed to assess large groups of people for new roles to establish their technical capability. We devised over 30 assessment activities ranging from mini-assessment centres through to sets of interview questions that made it very easy for managers to make hiring decisions based on robust data. This project was completed to very short timescales and received very positive customer feedback.
- Improving performance management
: Increasing management capability in performance management was a real challenge for another client. By working in close partnership with , three training modules were devised together with high quality, bite-sized How To cards designed to bring about focused change. Over a year period, the training is being delivered to over 500 managers. The highly experienced T&P training team supporting this work have received excellent feedback with the client reporting that the delegates often don’t realise that they are not a member of the organisation!
